Maintaining Membership:

• Must pay required dues.

• Must attend all meetings.

• Must maintain an unweighted GPA in science classes and overall of 3.0 or higher

• Complete 10 hours of approved science-related activities each year of membership. 

• Must maintain behavior that is acceptable to the guidelines as outlined by the school's code of conduct in the student handbook. 

• Must take an honors or AP science class during year of membership.

Failure to meet these expectations may result in dismissal. More details about membership and dismissal can be found in the by-laws and constitution linked below.

Hours

To maintain membership 5 hours of approved science activities much be completed per semester (10 hours per year).

Fall Hours Due January 17 by 7:30 a.m

Spring Hours Due May 4 by 7:30 a.m

Activities for hours can include:

• Tutoring in a science class 2 Hours Required

  • Tutoring for pay does NOT count.​

  • All tutoring must be supervised by a LRHS teacher, or approved by Ms. Harper in advance.

• Helping a science teacher prepare for class.​ (sign up genius)

• Visiting a science-related event, Science Museum, State or National park No repeat visits

  • Must include a Paragraph write up as well as a picture/pamphlet of the activity​

• Volunteering for a science-based organization

• 2 Summer hours permitted

• Presenting at a SNHS meeting instead of an officer. (Sign up genius)
